The text maps the inner landscape of the modern seeker: the flood of unconsciousness, the veil over perception, the guide who takes you by the hand, and the light waiting on the other side. Threaded through this is the psychology of Carl Jung, who saw that the craving for alcohol was often a misdirected craving for Spirit. Spiritus contra spiritum: the same thirst, the wrong river. This is not a book about addiction. It is about the human condition — the flood that carries executives, parents, teenagers, the religious, the secular, the successful, and the failing.
