***General Urology by Dr. Nguy?n Ðông Hung (Minh Hung)***This book wasn't created to be another "teaching book." I wanted it to be a large notebook, recording what I've learned, done, and thought over more than ten years in the profession. Part of it comes from books, part from real-life cases, and the rest from the people I've met: patients, colleagues, students, and even those who asked me seemingly simple questions that weren't easy to answer.
"Why do I urinate so often?" "Why does this pain keep coming back?" "Doctor, is my illness caused by living too fast?"
Therefore, each chapter in the book not only lists the pathologies, but also attempts to tell the clinical story: how the symptoms appeared, why they occurred, how to think correctly, how to treat them, and more importantly.When should we stop to listen to the patient?
I believe that:
Medicine is not just about treating diseases, but about understanding the human being through each individual body.
A good doctor is not just good because they know all the guidelines, but because they know how to see.human Behind the test results lies the knowledge of when intervention is needed and when to wait a little longer. Urology, after all, is not about "processing urine," but about helping people retain their most natural quality of life the ability to urinate, to rest, and to find peace.
In General Urology I systematically organized everything from anatomy, physiology, symptoms, to treatment, emergency care, and long-term care. But I tried to keep the writing style simple and easy to read, because I wanted residents, medical students, or primary care doctors anyone to be able to understand it immediately and apply it after reading. There are no boastful words, only experience distilled from practice.
Each section of the book contains:
The theoretical framework is clear.
The principle of "just enough" treatment.
Common pitfalls,
And sometimes, a true story is more memorable than a lesson.
I know that being a doctor can be lonely at times. During night shifts, there might be only the sound of the IV pump and the dim yellow light. But if someone opens this book during a shift and finds a line that helps them handle a case with more confidence, or simply realizes, "Ah, I'm not alone," then for me, that's a reason enough to write.
I would like to express my gratitude to the teachers who taught me, the colleagues who helped me through difficult cases, and the patients who inadvertently taught me more than any textbook.
Hopefully,General UrologyIt will be a reliable companion on your professional journey; a small book, but one that embodies a love for the profession and a belief in the value of simple, accurate, and compassionate understanding.
