Learn German with the Augsburg Saga – B2 German Reader (B2 Omnibus) brings together all five B2 novellas into a single, coherent reading experience covering the years 1929 to 1945. This omnibus combines the complete B2 sequence into approximately 173,000 words (print edition approx. 730 pages), offering sustained, serious reading practice for advanced learners and students preparing for C1.
Set mainly in Augsburg and southern Germany, these stories follow the Hartwig family as everyday life becomes increasingly shaped by economic collapse, political radicalization, war, persecution, and the breakdown of familiar routines. The focus remains on ordinary settings: workshops, offices, kitchens, pharmacies, stairwells, radios, forms, letters, and quiet conversations behind closed doors.
