We need leaders now, not tomorrow, not the next election cycle, not after another catastrophe. We need them now.
Where are the true leaders today? Everybody is asking:
Are leaders born, or are they made?
Are leaders developed, created, cultivated, or are they simply the accidental products of desperate circumstances?
Is leadership the birthright of a chosen few; a preserve of a particular gender, social class, or intellectual elite?
Is leadership the divine entitlement of a rare breed, carriers of some exceptional DNA, born to rule while the rest of us follow?
Must one hold a title or position of authority to be considered a leader?

We are tempted, almost conditioned, to associate leadership solely with government corridors, political parties, corporate offices, elite organisations, religious pulpits, platforms, or individuals with societal prestige. And in doing so, we unknowingly uphold deeply rooted misconceptions, misconceptions that not only limit our view of leadership but also infect others with the same narrow thinking.
