Descrizione All over the world, an increasing number of pet dogs are struggling with the process of being groomed. From nail trim trauma to fear of the blow dryer, many of these dogs display behavior problems that stem from fear and anxiety. Resisting, pulling away, growling, snapping and even biting are all common occurrences in traditional grooming salons. Since the grooming industry is unregulated, groomers are left to their own devices to attempt to groom dogs that are very clearly struggling with the process. In some cases, muzzles and medication are utilized, often failing to address the root cause of the problem. Dogs who are fearful or resistant of the process are usually treated in ways that don't honor them as intelligent, sentient beings. Excessive physical restraints are used, typically without the knowledge and education needed to honor the dog's anatomy, physiology and emotional state. Dogs who struggle with the process are often forced through it anyways, given no choice to escape or even take a break. What has this industry come to? Groomers all over the world are struggling, too. Many of them are burnt out from being undervalued and underappreciated for too long. Many groomers who started off their career loving dogs end up very frustrated and disappointed with their work. Being a groomer has never been easy, but has proven even more challenging with the genetic difficulties and impairments combined with behavioral challenges and health problems that many pet dogs face today. The pressure on groomers to "get the job done" puts them in a position where they feel obligated to please the customer, usually to the dog's detriment. Some guardians have even lost trust in groomers after bad grooming experiences and are taking their dog's grooming into their own hands.
