Descrizione
In such a world, with the core of Ancient Magic sprawling underground, the Embers of Arcane Light tell the story of Eric, the last scion of the line of the forgotten warlock. Torn apart by prophecies of darkness, Eric is standing right at the center of events that may well change the course of all existence. Poor and full of uncertainty, he is afraid of his very own powers, and thus Eric flies into an epic journey which pits him against ancient evil and the darkness within his very soul.
With dark forces stirring, Eric will find allies who would stand with him against the oncoming darkness. Elara is a very powerful, mysterious witch and turns out to be his confident, her wild raw magic balancing his ideally.
At their sides stands the guardian angel Seraphina, who has defied her orders from heaven to stand and fight alongside them-her light against the encroaching darkness. Warriors, mages, heroes of the most unlikely kind-an alliance in disarray. Each of their past experiences, fears, and hopes further adds to the growing coalition. It will be a very dangerous journey for Eric and his companions: they must pass through haunted forests, ancient ruins, deep inside Shadowlands-home of the resting Ancients. Lots of cynical politics on the part of some enemies, shrouded and fragile alliances, meet them on the road. However, the closer they get to the source of the darkness, the more they understand that it is not a battle of magic. Whispers of old scores and ulterior motives warp their alliance, and Eric must come to grips with a fear of power-and a mantle he now wears.
Embers of Arcane Light is fast action coupled with deep reflection. The eternal battle of light and darkness slowly ups the ante, bringing Eric and those around him to the breaking point.
It wasn't just fighting vampire lords and primordial forces that consumed the world; it was, in one way or another, some sort of test for unity, courage, and sacrifice in its own way. Every decision, every alliance, every sacrifice-all of those bear an enormous price to pay. Be it the emotional journey of Eric, who needed to face his deepest fears and learn to control his powers, mastering them lest they consume him.
Everything circles around in a big circle to the final confrontation, where Eric is led to make the inevitable choice: using this forbidding power, means he will save the world, though at the same time, it would cost his soul. Not only is it physical combat; it is combat of the soul where two weights meet: the weight of sacrifice and the hope for a no-darkness future. Even in victory, the journey was far from over. A world marred by war would begin to heal, but even then, shadows would insinuate a new threat. The breaking day over Whispering Woods would find Eric standing: warlock, guardian, and a beacon of hope-a promise which always finds its way through the darkness. Embers of Arcane Light finally has a world full of depth for the reader, with intricate characters and stories based on the mixing of action, emotion, and intrigue. It's a growing tale of sacrifice and unabated pursuit toward a world in better condition, ends that leave readers satisfied but wanting for more. This is also a great read for epic fantasy lovers since it looks profoundly at the time-worn fight between light and darkness, hope and despair, and unity that will stand the test of time.
