Descrizione The environment is essential to life. Without it, humans, plants or animals cannot live because life will be extinct. Even though the trio depends on the environment for survival, only humans can preserve it for the good of all. That makes environmental preservation a binding duty for man. Sadly, the activities of the stewards of the environment—the reckless exploitation of natural resources, the wanton destruction of the very elements that support life and the persistent refusal to heed sound environmental reclamation protocols — suggest we care less about our sacred duty to protect and preserve our heritage or are oblivious to the consequences of our actions. Whatever the case may be, one of the ways to conserve what remains of our heritage is through constant education and continuous reminders of our responsibility to the earth and its contents. This book is my little contribution to the learning process. We can do better than we have been doing so far to reclaim and preserve the environment for our survival and all other living things so that life will continue. What you have in your hand is, thus, a must-read book for those whose survival depends on a safe and vibrant environment. Undeniably, no generation has degraded the environment more than those in the 21st century. Refreshingly, the recognition of a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment as a human right by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 2022 demonstrates the extent to which the protection of the environment is now seen as inexorable. It is thus incumbent on all to realize that the current generation does not own the environment but has borrowed it from future generations. Regrettably, that consciousness is lost on us as a people, and this is principally why the author has gone to great lengths to produce this well-researched book. It is a masterpiece by all standards and shall undoubtedly remain relevant for succeeding generations.
