Who did it? Jane the maid, James the houseman, Cook, Samuel the one time stage-hand, Doctor Fulke or the Dowager's daughter, Theophilia or perhaps it was her husband, William Dorchester ... nothing is quite what it seems ... Black Veil This story centres on the apparent mission to bring a star witness from the Riviera to London to testify in a murder trial. The apparent mission because before the men have left Le Havre on their way to Paris to meet with Fulshard, they are beset by anarchists and Fenchurch's beloved Lancia Lambda is blown to smithereens. Stradler's Game In Stradler's Game, Adam has left for Spain, leaving Alfred, together with new recruit, Guy Thillot, to infiltrate the security of a German bank and plant a listening device. But it quickly transpires that trust and loyalty are tradeable commodities and suddenly Alfred is fighting for his life and having to flee adversaries coming at him, left, right and centre. Stradler is perhaps the only person whom Alfred can trust; but even Stradler has a few surprises in store for him. The Helios Protocol In The Helios Protocol, reeling from the events in Freiburg, Alfred and Adam are rescued by Yves and Webb; only to be sent to Malta to track down Fulshard and The Daughters of Helios ... they find a lot more than they bargained for and the final showdown with the traitor Fulshard is nothing like Alfred imagined. But only when Alfred and Adam return to Stradler's family in Italy to visit William and pay their respects, do they find out the whole story of the Helios Protocol. The Fanshawe Scroll In The Fanshawe Scroll, Alfred and Adam decamp to the Isle of Wight to spend three weeks in relaxation after the horror of Comino. They are staying at the villa which Alfred gifted to Adam on the occasion of their marriage. But intrigue and murder have followed them across the Channel. A strange and indecipherable manuscript, a sunken wreck full of gold, an enigmatic Russian buccaneer, a conspiracy between the members of the same club and opium smuggling provide the backdrop to this story of greed and violence. Storm Clouds In Storm Clouds, the theft of a batch of lethal radium E catapults Alfred and Adam into the world of the industrialist, William Hartselle - a despicable monster, hell-bent on killing millions. Their search for the radioactive material takes them first to Corvo in the Azores where they find not the radium but a man, Salvatore, enslaved by Hartselle, who gives them a nightmarish glimpse into the maniacal and sadistic brain of the man whom governments bow to. Salvatore unwittingly provides the crime- busting duo with the vital clue to the whereabouts of the radium and the showdown stage is set. Recruiting Antonio Borelli to the cause, they rush to Badenweiler in Germany to prevent mass-murder. Time is always against the pair as they race from Corvo to Badenweiler, dodging assassins, never sure where the next bullet is coming from.
