Betts' journey begins after the brutal murder of her former comrades and the discovery of a revolutionary green pellet created by her friend Lucas Moreau that slims the body while enhancing intelligence. Lucidion, however, is far more than a medical breakthrough. It is a threat to the foundations of The Unseen's control.
For decades, the cabal had been using junk food obesity and addiction to sugar to keep the masses docile and distracted. No one fat can hit the streets and fight. Lucidion threatens to free people from these shackles, and for that, Betts and anyone connected to the formula become targets.
From the icy forests of Glimmerwald, where an economic conference serves to coordinate world repression, and hides deadly secrets, to the chaotic streets of Istanbul and the neon-lit clubs of Manhattan, Betts uncovers the terrifying truth. The Unseen are not just economic overlords; they are engineers of reality itself, crafting a world where bodies are controlled and minds are manipulated.
Figures like Marcella, the ruthless head of a foundation that poses as philanthropic, and Osso Bucco, an arrogant billionaire, are key players in a system designed to enslave humanity through a toxic mix of greed, technology, and fear.
As Betts targets Marcella and Osso Bucco with a bioengineered Hantavirus, she struggles to reconcile her actions with her own moral code. Can she fight fire with fire without becoming like those she seeks to destroy? The deaths of Marcella and Osso Bucco send ripples of chaos through The Unseen, but the cabal remains shrouded in mystery, regrouping and readying their next move.
