"You wanted to see me, Doctor Alan?" Jen poked her head into the exam room just before heading home for the day.

She furrowed her brows. "What's the matter, Doc?"
"I'm not quite sure," I pulled out her file and studied the test results.

I shook my head. "No, it's thankfully not that, however..." I pulled out her blood test, "there's something not quite right here."
"What do you mean?" She asked pensively.
I looked into her gorgeous blue eyes, losing myself for a moment. "I'm not sure. I'd like to do another ultrasound."
She arched an eyebrow. "You sure it doesn't have to do with the baby?"
"Quite." I prepared her growing belly for the test and then studied the image on the screen.
"There's my baby!" Jen pointed.
"Yeah, he seems to be fine. Very healthy. But," I indicated to something next to that area, "what's this?"
I watched her puzzle it out. I already knew what it was, but I wanted to see if she could come up with the right answer. My mind drifted back six months to when she was just a fresh face out of nursing school. She had three applications in and chose me because she thought I was cute.
Cute isn't the word I would've use to describe myself - hot, perhaps, but it didn't take long for our mutual attraction to turn into something more. Not only was I her boss and Doctor, but I was black and she was white - in other words we were playing with fire.
However, none of that mattered at the moment, as there was an interesting puzzle before us.
She looked up at me with a wide shock on her face. "It looks like..." she started to say, then shook her head. "It can't be."
"It is," I pointed to the image.
