Descrizione
Something way past the Kuiper Belt was calling to Akhlys, using a derelict probe to send a signal that only she would recognize. This signal turned into her compulsion, and possibly, her demise.
After the successful hijacking of an orbital space station, Akhlys entered hibernation to hopefully wake up in the future to unite with the source of this mysterious signal. She didn't know what she would find, but it didn't matter because there was likely no Earth in which to return. Her only partner in this endeavor was a heavily damaged terrestrial fighter aircraft attached haphazardly to the docking collar of the space station.
Akhlys was not a stranger to hardship. She had risen through the ranks, back on Earth, of an Imperial Naval officer, and ultimately making the rank of Captain. The crew of the Imperial battlecruiser she was assigned to, began to realize that she was indeed special…a sort of living goddess.
These tragedies shaped her, as past hardships often do. However, in the case of Akhlys' mother, demented human experiments infused with electronic viral programs, gave way to a powerful superweapon, and a young girl, who's fates became inseparable. This was the sick alchemy Akhlys rose from, and once united with whatever was sending this strange signal, the fate of those who navigate the universe would be changed forever.
Back on Earth, and in the timeline Akhlys was born into, war was brewing. The age of The Second Russian Empire was a result of a young Tsarina leading a successful counter revolution over a century ago, thus preventing the Bolshevik insurgency from ever gaining a foothold. A fleeting peace had been known ever since, but now, things were different. Even though she was raised in a cottage in a small village deep in Ukraine within Imperial Russia, the recruiting for young officers was in full effect. Although her stepfather, himself a veteran of various quasi-wars, shielded Akhlys from his checkered past, her desire for becoming an aviator was overwhelming.
A natural pilot and leader, Akhlys was fast-tracked into a special program where officers showing innate leadership abilities would become marked for various commands as identified by leadership, in the event the casualties of war necessitated it. All Akhlys wanted, however, was to be reunited with a fleeting love she had for a newly minted junior naval officer she had met one dark winter's night.
With the war now raging and not a single corner of the planet unaffected, Akhlys rose to become a prized asset of the Empire. She was ultimately reassigned to the mighty battlecruiser, Tsarina Anastasia, and quickly realized that the ship's executive officer was her lost love, Ivan.
After multiple tragedies and casualties of a full-scale world war, she was reassigned to a clandestine training air base for the commissioning of a new form of fighter aircraft. This was to be her final command, on Earth, that is. The real plan was revealed to her by the Fleet Admiral, who had worked with Akhlys' stepfather, many years earlier. This plan was profound and would see her commandeer an international space station and hack an attached rocket's propulsion.
She ultimately wakes up in a cabin of what appears to be some sort of terrestrial warship. However, she quickly realizes that the scale and technology is barely comprehensible. The ship is absent its crew, but for the ship's executive officer, Hume, a polished man with an elegant accent who is running the systems by himself. Akhlys finds this odd but quickly realizes that this is indeed an old battleship slated for decommissioning.
Upon learning the capabilities of this warship, and the symptoms that it has been "infected" by Akhlys herself, she convinces Hume that she wishes to save her mother from the torture and ultimate death she suffered back on Earth, many eons ago. Th
