This book presents the Battle of the Hydaspes as an operational study in river crossing, deception, and battlefield adaptation against an unfamiliar enemy. Rather than focusing on spectacle, it examines how Alexander engineered the conditions for success, and how Porus organized a defense built around terrain and the shock power of war elephants.
