The Dance of the Bees books is a novel by Yong Fenlon, published in 2024. Fiction for filled with bees are more than just honey-makers.
One of the stories in this book is about Bea, a beekeeper who owns Buzzing Harmony, a small farm that produces organic honey and other bee products. Bea loves her bees and takes care of them with passion and dedication. She follows natural and sustainable methods of hive management, honey extraction, and bee health maintenance, respecting the needs and rhythms of her colonies.
Bea's daily routine involves inspecting the hives, observing the behavior and activity of the bees, feeding them with sugar syrup, pollen patties when necessary, checking for signs of pests, diseases, harvesting honey and wax, and preparing her products for sale. She also educates her customers and visitors about the benefits and challenges of beekeeping and encourages them to support local and organic farmers.
In this story, will learn how Bea manages her hives according to the seasons, the weather, and the flowering cycles of the plants. Will also learn how she extracts honey and wax without harming the bees, and taking more than they can spare. Will see how she monitors and treats her bees for common problems, such as varroa mites, nosema, foulbrood, using natural remedies and preventive measures. Will also discover how she interacts with her bees, understanding their communication and personality, and how she shares her love and gratitude with them.
