Descrizione Doctors need to thoroughly understand logic, math, physics, chemistry, and biology to even begin to understand medicine. Medicine is advanced science, dependent on all the specialties below it in the knowledge pyramid... Most doctors have poor or even atrocious judgment. In any person of sense, common sense is usually correct and is thus backed up by fitting all the facts to a model or by rigorous logical reasoning. Scientists routinely underestimate the power of deductive reasoning even in science. Thus, any person of sense rightly trusts his validated common sensical notions. Unfortunately, most doctors have little common sense. Worse, most doctors disparage common sense, even that of sensible people. Most doctors are also not trained to think logically and critically. Most doctors parrot other doctors – the authorities, the experts, and too often sound just like pharma execs. Most doctors do not formally study logic, pure and applied. Huge mistake: we all need this formal training in logic. Most doctors know too little math and are even surprisingly sometimes ignorant of basic statistics. Most doctors generally have a poor understanding of physics and an even poorer understanding of chemistry. Some doctors even have a poor grasp of biology, and in opposing the body's natural ways, doctors show patent disrespect for the amazing power of evolutionary selective pressures, in six geologic epochs so intense that between 50% and 90% of all species perished. As a rule, evolution is not Spencerian "survival of the fittest." But evolution always selects against the least fit. When evolutionary pressures have been strong enough, as they have been in the six epochs of mass destruction, evolutionary pressures approximated selection for the fittest. The entire multi-trillion-dollar pharmaceutical industry is predicated on the false assumption that opposing natural processes with vigor will improve health. If that is true, evolution has failed miserably. On the contrary, extreme evolutionary pressures have selected for human bodily processes that work so well that the astute person works with these natural processes to assist them. That means the astute person works against doctors and pharma execs who speak senseless anti-biological gobbledygook. With vigor, most doctors and pharma oppose important natural and health-promoting processes like fever, aggressive dietary lipid absorption, and aggressive stomach acid production. To doctors and pharma execs lacking common sense it makes perfect sense that dietary fat is extremely bad for our health, despite the human body's aggressive absorption of fat. This means that doctors think that our own bodies are working against our health, maybe even suicidally trying to destroy our health, and at all costs, we must stop our bodies' self-destructiveness. To a person of sense, these claims of doctors and pharma execs make zero sense. Something is wrong with doctors' understanding because everything that the body is doing has been selected to be the best thing the body can possibly do to survive and thrive in each situation, including dire emergencies. Thus, most doctors' senselessness forces us to choose between sense and medicine. When medicine and sense contradict each other, which is often, logically minded people like me choose sense (what logicians, mathematicians, physicists, chemists, biologists say) over medicine (what most doctors and pharma execs say).
