Each day, the world spins a little crazier, a bit more ungodly, echoing the chaos of Genesis. It's like we've been thrown back to the days of Noah, when "the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and... every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (Genesis 6:5).
Our exit signs are flashing, and we're about to punch our one-way tickets off this planet. We're boarding the express train to our eternal home, Heaven. Sounds like a sci-fi plot, doesn't it? But many Christians are standing at the platform, ready to hop on. And yet, when we turn to the parable of the virgins, we see that only half of us were packed and ready to go.
You see, there's a problem. A big one. Many of our fellow believers are being duped, led down the wrong path by a cunning adversary. The devil's secret weapon? Worldliness, the allure of the worldly pattern. It's seeped into our churches, blurring the lines, making it hard to tell Christians apart from the rest of the world.
But here's the good news - God saw this coming. And He's got a plan: holiness. It's our spiritual armor, a shield against the storm. With the rapture on the horizon, Jesus is sending out a wake-up call, an invitation to prepare ourselves, His bride. This is our call to action, because without it, we may not end up at the destination we thought we were going to.
This book is a wake-up call, a shout from the rooftops to the church to shake off its drowsiness and rediscover a life of holiness. It's time to turn away from the shiny distractions of this world, to draw closer to God. As James reminds us in James 4:8, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
