A possession, regardless of its nature, is best looked after and better preserved, if the proprietor thereof, is aware of the core attributes of that possession; and expressly adopts measures geared towards safeguarding the welfare and continuous prevalence of that possession. For instance, when we are aware that exposing iron to moisture would trigger a destructive corrosive effect on the iron, we would take measures to avoid bringing the iron into contact with moisture. Many people engage in activities that cause chronic damage to their spiritual structures without being aware of it. This kind of behaviour is tantamount to unintended self-inflicted suffering.
The human biologist deserves full credit, for gaining an understanding of the human anatomy; for identifying both the internal and external structures that characterise the human body; and for uncovering the plethora of physiological processes that govern the functioning of bodily features. Thanks to the human biologist, we have been brought to the awareness that the heart is a muscular organ, responsible for pumping blood delivered to all the parts of the body via the circulatory system. By virtue of the expertise of both the human biologist and the dietitian, we are aware that saturated fats are fatally detrimental to the health of the heart and that of the circulatory system.
Thus, just as the human biologist is an expert in the scientific study of the human body, so is the Divine or spiritual biologist well-versed in the biology of human spiritual features. The spiritual biologist is an expert with complete mastery of human spiritual anatomy. These Divine biologists are exceptionally gifted with an insightful and comprehensive understanding of the structure, composition, characteristics and dynamics of these fascinating structures.
By virtue of the expertise of the human biologist, we are aware that preserving the health of the heart, requires adherence to certain behaviours, including: regular exercise, avoidance of saturated fats, abstinence from lethal products, such as alcohol, tobacco, drugs and red meat. If we adhere to the professional advice of the human biologist, then we shall always enjoy excellent cardiac health, in a long-term sustainable manner. However, if we disregard the well-informed advice of the human biologist because of negligence, obstinance, or lack of goodwill, then it would just be a matter of time, before our cardiac health degenerates to distressful proportions.
Thus, the aim of this book is to provide a coherent exposition of human spiritual features, and the processes that unfold within these structures; so that we shall be better placed in preserving the integrity of these fascinating structures. Failure to preserve the welfare of these spiritual features would precipitate a host of mental, emotional and physical dysfunctions.
