Descrizione

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is a condition that is as old as mankind itself. The only difference between then and now is that first, people didn't know that there was such a thing and second, it has become more of an epidemic than a mere disorder. PTSD, however, is indeed real, and it troubles many people each year. It's almost impossible to crunch the numbers because plenty of people out there don't even know that they have it. Even then, it's still safe to say that there are millions of people who are experiencing PTSD, many of which life with, and sadly, die with PTSD undiagnosed. People who live with PTSD don't just live less fulfilling lives, but they tend to make life more difficult for those around them as well. And because PTSD can affect anyone — parents, children, friends, and loved ones — this condition has the potential to wreck, or at least cripple, entire communities from reaching their potentials. Yes, PTSD can affect anyone. While the scenario of an army veteran experiencing PTSD in his retirement years is an all too common one, it's important to know that regular individuals can develop the condition just as easily through experiences that can equal the trauma of being in a war. This goes beyond the effects of calamities like earthquakes and hurricanes or terrible experiences like crime. Literally anyone can experience something that traumatizes them to the point of developing PTSD. The sad reality is, however, that many people go through their lives not knowing they have it. And even if they do know they have it, they don't know there is a way to overcome the disorder. Yet many of those who do know about the condition, and realize that treatment options are available, still choose to procrastinate in getting help, for one reason or another. This is where you and this book come into play. Despite the facts stated above, the most important thing to remember is that PTSD can indeed be treated, and it starts with a friend or family member that recognizes their loved one may be suffering. Keep in mind, much like any other condition or illness, chances are that your loved one – the person in the midst of PTSD resulting from a traumatic experience – is unable to work things out on their own. They need you to help. Perhaps you think of PTSD as a complex scientific concept that only psychologists should meddle with. Well, that's partially true, but it's partially not. It is most definitely something that everyone should be aware of because there are plenty of ways you can help. This book is geared towards simplifying PTSD for you, and explaining what your role can be in helping your loved one recover. The solution to PTSD rests in knowing how to identify it in others (or perhaps even in yourself), and how to give them the support and understanding they need to make a full recovery. That's exactly what this ebook is designed to help you do. So don't wait any longer: Be proactive in helping to save your loved one - and those around him - from being deprived of a better life. Read on to learn more.
